Congregational Development
The Congregational Development Committee is a standing
committee of the Association that is in touch with the
smaller member congregations on a regular basis,
meeting with their clergy and lay leaders not less
often than monthly. Specifically:
-
The Congregational Development Committee finds out
the particular needs of each such congregation, as the
needs may exist from time-to-time;
-
The committee undertakes to help the congregation
solve its problems by bringing to bear appropriate
non-financial assistance from the clergy, laity and
other resources of the Western Anglican congregations;
-
The committee promptly brings to the Executive
Committee's attention any cases where the committee is
unable to arrange for meaningful assistance to help
address an important need of one of the smaller
congregations, so that the Executive Committee itself
may attempt to address the problem; and
-
One project of the committee is to implement a
web-based "swap Meet" for the Association and other
churches.
The Scriptural model for Congregational Development is
Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill
the law of Christ
