Membership Criteria

Membership in the Association of Western Anglican Congregations is open to orthodox Anglican congregations in the Western United States that meet the following criteria:

  1. Have no ties to the Episcopal Church, USA (TEC).
  2. Is a parish or congregation under the authority of a parish and a member of a Common Cause Partnership or in a diocese of a province of The Worldwide Anglican Communion that holds to the belief of “one holy catholic and apostolic Church” and ascribes to the truth that Holy Scriptures contain all doctrine required as necessary for eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
  3. Subscribe by signed Resolution to the Theological Statement of Faith and the Statement of Core Values of the Association of Western Anglican Congregations.

In accordance with the Association’s Bylaws, a congregation is defined as having 30 or more contributing members in regular attendance. A qualifying member of the congregation must be 16 years or older. The Association’s area of influence includes the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. An Anglican congregation is considered to be orthodox if it is found to meet the requirements listed in items 1, 2 and 3 above.
