Clergy Development and Theological Education

Clergy Development

Anglican congregations cannot grow and multiply themselves if we fail to develop an increasing number of qualified candidates for the ordained clergy. Our Clergy Development Committee's call and responsibility is to oversee the care and process toward ordination of fit candidates for both the Permanent Deaconate and the Priesthood. Clergy Development (one of two subcommittees of our Clergy Development and Theological Development Committee) currently has a number of persons in its well defined process that was developed and tested in practice in association with the Western Convocation of the Anglican Communion Network, as well as the Diocese of Luweero, Uganda.

Theological Education

The availability of quality Anglican Theological Education here in the West is a priority because many of our candidates for the ordained ministry have families to support and are unable to attend seminaries in the eastern part of the United States.  Theological Education is one of two subcommittees of our Clergy Development and Theological Education Committee.  It has begun a process of establishing relationships with Western seminaries whereby Anglican studies can be made available as part of the MDiv programs.
