Evangelism Committee
The Evangelism Committee is a standing committee of the the Diocese of Western Anglicans that encourages personal evangelism as essential to proclaiming the Kingdom of God, based on the principle that the new birth is spread primarily from one person to another, at the grass roots level. Specifically, the committee:
Provides credible evangelists and programs to teach, train and encourage all congregants (adult, youth and children) to effectively and fearlessly proclaim the person and the transforming power of Jesus Christ;
Supports the Diocese's congregations in the local competition for church attendance by lending them assistance with media relations, special events, and other kinds of church marketing that member congregations have found to be effective or that are innovative; and
Liaising with the Missions Committee, the Evangelism Committee works to help the member congregations become attractive to people of all races and cultural backgrounds.
The Scriptural model for the Evangelism Committee is the Great Commission and Jn 20:21, 4:35 As the Father has sent me, I also send you ... Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
