House of Delegates
The House of Delegates is comprised of approximately equal numbers of clergy and lay delegates from our member congregations, chosen annually. The House of Delegates meets at least biannually, including an annual meeting. Clergy delegates are ordained clergy who have been employed for a minimum number of hours each week by their congregation or who, though not so employed, regularly assist as a member of the congregation. A number of lay delegates is elected by the vestry of each member congregation according to a formula based on average weekly attendance. The formula favors newer, smaller congregations. Major decisions affecting Western Anglicans are made or ratified by the House of Delegates, representing all of our member congregations
