Theological Education
The availability of quality Anglican Theological
Education here in the West is a priority because many
of our candidates for the ordained ministry have
families to support and are unable to attend
seminaries in the eastern part of the United States.
Theological Education is one of two subcommittees of
our Clergy Development and Theological Education
Committee. It has begun a process of establishing
relationships with Western seminaries whereby Anglican
studies can be made available as part of the MDiv
programs. To date, work on a course syllabus has
begun at Azusa Pacific University/Haggard Graduate
School of Theology, as part of an MDiv program with
emphasis on Anglican Theology. The courses are:
- Liturgy I History of Christian Worship
- Liturgy II Pastoral Liturgy
- Anglican Church History
- Ascetical Theology: Anglican Spirituality
- Anglican Ethics and Moral Theology
- Anglican Parish Ministry
An Anglican Theological Library and a Board of
Examining Chaplains are also planned, as the
subcommittee's work continues.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a
workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling
accurately the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15
